Ms. Nibal Thawabteh is a career professional in the media, and active in various national organizations which foster media advancement and monitor its development. As Director of the MDC, Nibal has overseen major advancements in the Centre’s capacity and performance, including the establishment of a robust service provision branch, the incorporation of strong advocacy for women in the professional media and growth of the diversity of interventions of the MDC in support of media development in Palestine and the region, Nibal also is the first female Editor In Chief of a critical Palestinian newspaper , that is Al-Hal newspaper which is issued by the Media Development Center/Birzeit University, she has many contributions in facing corruption through Media, one of her well known experiences in this regard is the court case of Hassan Abu Lebda; the former economy minister on corruption allegations which she had won and he got suspended upon the court verdict, in additional sheis the chairwoman of one of the largest Palestinian news agencies, namely Ma’an news agency, where she has been elected to this office fortwo consecutive rounds.
